Bub's done and celebrating already!

School's done for this year, my nephew has been taking tests all week from 8:30 am to 2pm here at home as the school (insert jackasses here) won't let him attend his normal High school. I won't explain it was illegal but it's all we got here. He's happy as a lark that it's done and he only has his senior year to finish. He's already playing his switch like a loon but wants to fire up the playstation too. I swear that boy would play both at the same time if he had 2 extra arms! My brain don't split like that no more!

Went to a meeting for vacation bible school which my niece and I are working at this year and it looks fun and different from what I did last year. Met some new folks I've never worked with before and it did take a few minutes for them to figure out I'm old in age but not in mind and am up for new experiences and thinking outside the box. Nope I don't need to be the main teacher of the lesson or lead the prayer all the time. Hey I know I'll herd them in and out of the bathrooms! lol No I'm not too proud to do that or to insist the younger workers do it.

I do want to take the kids back to Dollywood this year for the Christian music concert it has Anne Wilson and King & Country going to be there which we love. Not sure what else we'll get up to this summer but hopefully we can keep busy and have fun.

School ended today for us, too. Em has strep so he missed his last week. PlayStation is already fired up, too.

My grandpa loved Dollywood. I was so sad I never got to go with him prior to his passing but plan on taking the kids to it, so they can enjoy it in his memory. ❤️

Back again after a long weekend

Yep I took a little break this weekend. Mother's day still tears me up with all the pictures and happy happy when I'd give anything for just one more hug or conversation with mine. So I just take the day off social media and read and such to keep my mind off it. I suspect there are others out there doing the same. You don't want to be jealous of your friends and family that still have their Moms but dang it's hard!

Saturday night was some fun my niece Brooke who is a sophomore in high school, was starring in a play at school a comedy mixing the tv show SVU and fairytale characters and was hilarious! She asked my sister and her kids and I to come so we all dressed up and hauled it over well except for Adam who said no way! butthole! We had a great time. Talked with Brooke's Mom and it's going to be a busy summer for her, she has to miss going to the actors special studio over in Indiana as it crosses time she has to spend at the Governor's academic award camp which lasts 6 weeks. She's got great grades and is super smart (comes from her Mama, for sure). We are super proud of her even if we don't get to see that much of her as she's always busy. Swimming and diving competitions, black belt in karate and more and more. They never slow down. But God love her she still talks country as the rest of us. I hope she never loses it.

Two more Wednesday nights and my summer should ease off. When school let's out our church takes a break on Wed night services. During school time we serve a dinner for families and offer different classes the adults can choose from to learn more. The kids are fed and watched by volunteers with classes for them as well as games and fun. My sister and I (yes I volunteered us) keep the babies and toddlers that are too young to be in school. It's been very rewarding as herding them isn't much different from herding the cops I used to order around. lol

It's been especially tricky the last couple months as we have a couple of Japanese speaking girls staying with us while their Mom's are in an English second language class. We have 2 one in Spanish and the other Japanese so it's helping folks out.

I admit I really enjoy my church, I volunteer there 2 days a week in the office and am learning about our Helping hands project where folks who are needing help with rent, water or electric can sometimes get help paying their bills when times get tough. Thank goodness I do not have to make that call just get the correct information and send it to the committee. That job stinks, cause you cannot always say yes!

Anyway hope ya'll had a good weekend and are ready for a fun week.

You got to be kidding me!!!

I was reading a bit of news over the last couple of days, nothing political or about crime as I'm not in the mood to be upset. But hey what do I find in several places Self-checkout machines are now coming with a Tip me prompt! So not only do we get to hunt down the items we need then scan them and bag them by our self but that pain in the butt machine asks for a TIP? Kiss my big foot! I enjoy tipping when folks earn it but this is way beyond common sense. I do not work for them and I will not tip a machine as a matter of fact I will take my business elsewhere. I already prefer to do my grocery shopping at a small locally owned store even if it costs a few dollars more. But I can see this pushing more folks than ever to places like Amazon. The service industry took a bit hit during covid19 and has never fully recovered but tipping self-checkouts for letting you use them to do your own work is not service it's an insult!

They should be tipping us! That is total crap right there... tip a machine? Why because the company put technology in their store in an attempt to cut labor costs and likely can not afford that technology? Just my theory.

It has taken several days and a lot of help from the boss man but I have finally regained my access to VR. I have already seen a bunch of things I need to work on but I have got to do a crash course in editing codes and such before I wreck things. lol Y'all say a prayer for me on this one.
